Fig Or Spiral Whitefly Otherwise Known As Ficus Whitefly
As you may have heard, whitefly is the latest pest to hit your ficus trees and hedges. Many people have ficus hedges around their home as a privacy hedge. It's an inexpensive plant that grows fast, but is also very susceptible to many different pest and diseases.
The whitefly is a small winged pest that actually is white. The whitefly feeds on the underside of the ficus leaves causing them to wilt, yellow and fall off. You may notice your hedge thinning or that there are a lot of dead leaves at the base of your hedge even though it appears to be green. These are the beginning signs that you have a problem with your ficus.
If not treated quickly and properly you can plan on losing your hedge and your privacy in a very short time. If you don't treat your ficus trees or hedges as a preventative or at the beginning stages of the infestation you will see how quickly and how intensely these pest work.
Enviro-Safe Pest Control has a very proven and effective treatment plan to battle the ficus whitefly. We believe that drenching the soil with a systemic treatment as well as a foliage spray is the most effective method in attacking this pest.
