Grain Weevils are such tricky little buggers. Unfortuantly Enviro-Safe wont be able to spray and get rid of these guys. Believe it or not you most likely bought them from your local grocery store. The fact is we probably eat weevils eggs on a regular bases. Yay for protein!

The female lays her eggs inside a grain kernel (possibly up to 254 times). The eggs hatch and for one to five months depending on the season, the larva feeds on the kernel as it grows. Once it reaches adulthood the weevil emerges then starts the process all over again.

Here are some preventative options: Freeze them out! Place your newly purchased grain food in the freezer for a couple of days. Most websites say 3-4 days. Basically freezing the eggs that might be in products stops for any further growth. Another way is to place all of your items that might be compromised in glass or hard plastic containers to keep them from infesting.

Think you have them already? Throw away the compromised items if you can off site of your home.
